Our Lord Emsworth handcrafted chest is the king of cigar humidors. Inspired by the heirloom blanket chest, we created our own smaller version out of solid cherry boards lined with Spanish cedar. Although small for a chest, it's roomy for a humidor, accommodating around 100 larger cigars.
Our humidor comes with two removable cigar trays and a tightly sealing lid. Unlike most humidors, we left space for your choice of humidifier rather than building one in. This means that the chest could also be repurposed as a glamorous jewelry or keepsake box.
In order to preserve your cigars, you will need to purchase a humidifier to go in your chest, so we personally use and recommend the Cigar Oasis Excel 3.0 Humidifier and offer the option to buy the chest with this humidifier pre-installed*.
The entire piece is made from 1/2-inch-thick cherry with the exception of the interior and trays, which are the traditional solid Spanish cedar boards (1/4 inch thick for the top and bottom and 3/16 inch thick for the sides and trays.) Crack open the lid, and you can breathe in its rich spiciness. Besides enhancing the flavor of cigars as they age, the Spanish cedar helps maintain humidity by absorbing and releasing moisture, it resists mold and deters tobacco beetles.
*The Cigar Oasis is a top-tier humidifier and digital hygrometer that automatically maintains the humidity at a precise, specified percentage. (No more guesswork at getting the right humidity levels or replacing of old cartridges.) This humidifier only requires being refilled with distilled water up to every couple of months. Since it uses a cable that has to be installed under the hinges, we offer the option to buy the chest with the Cigar Oasis pre-installed.
